Project partner city: New York

New York City is the largest city in the USA with 20 million inhabitants in the metropolitan region. It also contains the most parkland of any U.S. city and it is hoped that today's tree canopy cover will increase from about 21% of the city today, to 30% by 2030. Challenges to local and regional biodiversity include pollution, climate change, sea level rise, stormwater management, and human population growth.

Data on land use changes over time and ecosystem service values is collected to enable a comprehensive analysis in the URBES project. New York will be included in the scenario constructions by WP6, supported by land use changes maps by WP2.

New York is host city for the the URBES partner The New School Tishman Environment and Design Center. Contact person is .
